An evening with Jinny Blom – SOLD OUT
9th March 2017
Garden designer Jinny Blom trained as a psychotherapist before becoming a garden designer in 2000. Since then she has created more than 250 public and private gardens and landscapes across the world, winning many awards including gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show. At Chelsea she co-designed The Prince of Wales Healing Garden in 2002 and show gardens for Laurent-Perrier in 2006 and 2007. She returned in 2013 to design a garden with Prince Harry to raise awareness of the landlocked country of Lesotho ravaged by the HIV epidemic. She has been nominated Woman of the Year three times for her contribution to society through her work.
Jinny insists ‘Commissioning a landscape is no different to commissioning a work of art or a piece of music – it is a sensitive, erudite process, not a commodity’. Her philosophy is to create landscapes that continue to evolve beyond the span of our lives. She believes in the therapeutic power of a beautiful garden. She will be talking about her new book, The Thoughtful Gardener, an intelligent approach to garden design.
