An evening with Gavin Pretor-Pinney introducing his book

Internationally-bestselling author, TV and radio presenter and founder of the The Cloud Appreciaton Society Gavin Pretor- Pinney gives an illustrated tour of the sky helping us see clouds like never before. They are so every-day and commonplace, that many of us barely notice clouds, except when they block out the sun. We think of them merely as things that get in the way. Gavin will show how to distinguish many different cloud formations, from the common Cumulus to the rare and fleeting Kelvin-Helmholtz wave cloud. He will argue that, far from being something to complain about, the clouds are the most dynamic, evocative and poetic aspect of nature, and cloudspotting is the perfect antidote to the stresses of modern life.
