An evening with Brigid Keenan

Brigid Keenan was a successful young fashion editor in London when she fell in love with a diplomat and swapped the salons of Paris fashion for a chicken shed in Nepal. There are thought to be 5 million trailing spouses who abandon their own careers to follow their partner around the world from Hong Kong to Havana to Timbuktu to Tokyo struggling along, trying to make some corner of a foreign field forever England….

Brigid will be talking about her trials and tribulations as well as her best-selling book Diplomatic Baggage and its sequel Packing Up to chart the challenges that she faced coping with illness, riots, horsemeat sausages and finally a life of retirement in Somerset.

“Fabulous!” Joanna Lumley
“So funny and frank and moving.” Deborah Moggach
